The Funding Priority "REFINA" by the BMBF
"REFINA - Research for the Reduction of Land Consumption and for Sustainable Land Management " was a funding priority by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in coaction with the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. The project management organisation Projektträger Jülich coordinated the work of the REFINA programme and supported projects technically and administratively.
The German Institute of Urban Affairs (Difu), Berlin, together with the Office for Local and Regional Planning, Aachen (BKR Aachen) had assumed responsibility for the cross-project accompaniment of the REFINA programme. REFINA ended on 30.3.2012, and the site gives an overview of the status of research by the year 2012.
